Medieval Hounskull Pigface Bascinet MASK15 - Medieval Weapons
Popular for its close-fit styling, the bascinet began replacing the great helm in the late 13th century with the conical pigface design intended to direct blows down and away from the skull and face of the knight. Hand-forged from high quality 18 gauge low carbon mild steel and adorned with brass accents, the helmet features a versatile side-pivot mount system which allows the visor to be completely removed if desired via detachable hinge pins to each side of the helmet. The visor features 28 breathing holes for ventilation along with wide eye slits to ensure high visibility by the wearer.
