The full tang blade is hand forged from 1045 and 1060 carbon steel that is folded 11 times, resulting in a remarkable, strikingly gorgeous 4,096 layers. The blade is then clay tempered, yielding a true hamon line and an impressive edge hardness of 58RC. The hardwood handle is traditionally wrapped in genuine ray skin. This sword features all the classic embellishments you love, including a brass habaki and menuki, as well an antique finished tsuba and kashira. A hand lacquered scabbard houses the magnificent 28" blade in glorious style.
